When I am not behind the camera, I am with my husband and our two kids, Luke and Leia. I love quiet lakes, back porch evenings, long walks, daisies, avocados, dreamy light, good playlists, and even better stories. I am deeply thankful for this life and for the couples who trust us with theirs.


Hi, I'm Melena,  a Blacksburg, Virginia Photographer with 12+ years of experience capturing stories in the incredible Appalachian mountains, from  cities like Blacksburg, Virginia to the New River Gorge. My love for storytelling began with my first digital camera at a young age, where I found myself capturing everything- from nature to people. I dreamed of traveling and telling stories, and today, that dream is my reality.

After marrying my high school sweetheart, who now works alongside me as my second shooter, I began photographing weddings in 2012. For over twelve years, we have documented some of life’s most meaningful days.

My Second shooter/business partner/ love of my life 

Brandon is the BEST husband, daddy, friend- the list goes on and on. He also makes a fantastic photographer! Find him going the extra mile for the shot, carefully photographing all the details while we shoot, crafting the coolest super8 films, and very often asking us all to stop so he can try something creative. We make a great team and I am so thankful we get to do this business and this LIFE together. Love you, Baber! (fun fact: he's also the biggest nerd ever, which is why we make a great pair haha)
